"Beam us up! BEAM US UP!" Commander Kirk yells.
I was sitting a couple thousand clicks away from the gate in my Hurricane, watching this movie on the Vid Channels. Seems like someone had managed to leak this movie onto private channels, and it's a fairly decent film. Nothing better to do anyway; Gatecamps arent always that exciting.
Beside me Spectre was in his Ferox, singing to himself. Gunny was half asleep in his Brutix, and Lani was using his false identity to earn some money. Felix was somewhere above the gate, cloaked in his Tempest, waiting for our prey to jump. I swear he was asleep.
"Guys..." Begins Spectre. A moment of silence passes.
"TENGU ON SCAN. TO THE GATE, NOW NOW!" His scream echos in our Voice Comms. After a half second of confusion, and people regaining their senses, we all cycle our warp drives and land on the gate. We wait for it to jump. And wait.
"Hes turning around, and just warped." Spectre informs us with a sigh. That would have been a beautiful kill. I haven't even seen a Strategic Cruiser, let alone popped one. We warp to our pound spot, and resume whatever we were doing before.
Minutes later, he appears to have come back.
"Reform on the gate, lets hope he jumps"
While in warp, we hear an excited Spectre tell us, "He jumped, get a point, GET A POINT!"
Knowing that my Cane had the fastest locking speed, I realized that it was up to me to catch the bugger.
We spread out, and wait.
There! He uncloaked 18 clicks from me. Immediately engaging my targeting systems, I put my disruptor on standby and pray. 3 seconds. 2. 1.
"POINT!" I yell in triumph.
Almost immediately, I am targeted by the Tengu, and promptly Jammed. Thankfully, Lani managed to get a point as well, and they proceeded to tear him to bits. My targeting systems were locked down, so I could only look on as my friends moved in for the kill.
His StealthBomber scout uncloaked, and started shooting at me. Yet, the genius was out of torp range, or something similar, as he did no damage to me.
The Tech 3 cruiser Melted by the time I could target again. His bomber friend re-cloaked, and presumably warped away. Someone snared his pod, and that was quickly squished.
Meanwhile, there was nothing but laughter and joyous banter on the comms.
"Did we really just kill a T3 ship?"
"What an idiot!"
"I wonder what he was thinking!"
"Fail scout is fail"
Someone opened a convo with our victim, and we learned that the StealthBomber was indeed his scout, and said scout had told him that the gate was clear. Our pound spot was only a few thousand from the gate, so we were definitly on directional scan.
But, lets not question a beautiful kill, shall we?
I think I like gatecamping.

What the hell is a "pound" spot. You mean "pounce"? That was a great kill though... I never expected that sort of ship to carelessly jump through our gate :)
